For patients with severe anxiety or those undergoing extensive procedures, deep sedation options allow you to safely drift into a light, sleep-like state where you will be entirely unaware of the treatment.

Can I drive myself home after my appointment?

If you choose nitrous oxide (laughing gas), yes! The effects wear off completely within a few minutes of turning off the gas, making it perfectly safe for you to drive yourself home or head back to work. However, if you utilize moderate oral sedation or deep sedation, the medication stays in your system much longer. You will be required to bring a trusted friend or family member to drive you home and look after you for the rest of the day.
