Cavity Treatment & Fillings

We do not believe every cavity has to be filled. Often times waiting and monitoring is a better approach rather than rushing to drill since our man-made systems of restoration often wear out within 5-7 years causing more damage to the tooth then allowing the tooth to re-mineralize on its own.

That being said, when minor dental damage or tooth decay is present and we deem a filling necessary, we use a tooth-colored resin to restore the appearance of your smile.

Our dental filling procedure typically looks like this:

  1. First, our dentist will numb the area around the affected tooth with a local anesthetic to ensure you feel comfortable during the procedure.
  2. Next, any decay or damage will be removed from the tooth and it will be thoroughly cleaned to prepare for the filling.
The composite resin material will then be carefully placed in layers and hardened with a special light. This allows the filling to bond securely with your tooth.
  3. Once the filling is in place, our dentist will shape and polish it to match the surface of your tooth, giving it a beautiful, healthy and natural looking appearance.
